Gunnison Valley Hospital Addition & Remodel

Gunnison Valley Hospital is a small rural healthcare facility that was originally built in the 1940s. Big-D completed a much-needed renovation and addition which expanded the existing hospital by 10,600-sf. The two-story addition created space for new operating rooms, offices, sterile supply storage, decontamination room, sleeping area, locker room, doctors lounge, break room, soil holding, and secure access rooms. This addition expanded the surgery capacity, allowing the hospital to perform regular orthopedic surgery procedures. The renovation scope work included selective remodeling of existing rooms in the hospital. The project was phased to complete construction of the addition prior to beginning remodel work inside the existing building.
