Vernal City Municipal Center

The Vernal Municipal Center is a new, two-story multi-agency facility that houses City Administration, Finance, Public Safety, Community Development, and the Justice Court. The police facilities include space for dispatch, holding, evidence handling, patrol, investigations, records, and administration and a detached ancillary building for examination and storage of criminal property and files. The building features a unique radius entry and stairway that leads to a cantilevered mezzanine and a glass atrium captures natural light and views. High-end finishes include imported porcelain tile, hardwood paneling, stainless steel railing, crown molding, wainscot, and solid wood cabinetry and doors. The project earned LEED Silver certification with efforts that included the use of regionally sourced and recycled materials, FSC-certified wood, non-toxic low-VOC building materials, water efficient landscaping, and a geothermal heat exchange system for HVAC system.
